Cribworthy Diaper Size Finder
Diaper sizes by weight: find your baby's size in every brand
Size 2 does not mean the same weight in Pampers as in Huggies. Enter a weight and see the size in 8 everyday diaper lines plus 6 pull-on, overnight and training lines, each from the brand's own chart.
Quick answer
Diaper sizes go by weight, not age. Newborn size runs up to 10 lb in Pampers, Huggies Little Snugglers, Hello Bello, Coterie and Honest. Size 1 is 8–14 lb in Pampers, Huggies Little Snugglers, Kirkland Signature, Honest and Parent's Choice; 8–12 lb in Hello Bello and Coterie. From size 2 the charts split: 12–18 lb in Huggies Little Snugglers, Kirkland Signature, Honest and Parent's Choice; 10–16 lb in Hello Bello and Coterie; 10–22 lb in Pampers. So a 20 lb baby is a size 2 in Pampers Swaddlers and a size 3 in Huggies Little Snugglers. Enter your baby's weight below to see the size in each brand, checked against each brand's own chart on 2026-10-26.
At 15 lb (6.8 kg): size 2 in Pampers Swaddlers, Huggies Little Snugglers, Kirkland Signature, Hello Bello, Coterie, Honest Clean Conscious and Parent's Choice Dry & Gentle.
You're at the top end of size 2 (10–16 lb) in Hello Bello, but the middle of size 2 (10–22 lb) in Pampers Swaddlers.

Signs it's time to size up
At 15 lb you're near the top of the size in Hello Bello and Coterie. Watch for the signs below.
What Pampers says
Move up when your baby is in the next size's weight range and the diaper feels tight, leaves red marks, or leaks even when it is on properly.
- Red marks on the skin
- Frequent leaks or blowouts
- The tabs no longer reach the center of the waistband
- You can't fit two fingers comfortably under the waistband
- The diaper doesn't fully cover the bottom
- Your baby seems uncomfortable
- Frequent diaper rash
Signs it may be too big:
- Large gaps around the legs
- Tabs that overlap when fastened
- Sizing up too soon can itself cause leaks or blowouts
What Huggies says
Some sizes overlap, so check fit to know when to move up. A long, lean baby may need a smaller size, and an active, heavier baby may size up faster.
- The diaper no longer fits snugly below the belly button
- You can't fit two fingers comfortably under the waistband
- Red marks on the tummy, thighs or waist
- The diaper doesn't fully cover your baby's bottom
- More leaks, blowouts or diaper rash
- Your baby seems uncomfortable or pulls at the diaper
Roughly how many to stock in this size
The per-day and months figures are each brand's own. The total is our multiplication of the two, so treat it as a rough ceiling, not a shopping list. Unopened packs are easier to exchange if your baby grows faster.

- Pampers Swaddlers: Pampers' general size chart article gives the same ranges as the Swaddlers page.
- Huggies Little Snugglers: huggies.com refuses automated requests, so we read Huggies' pages through the Internet Archive's most recent copy.
- Huggies Little Movers: Little Movers starts at size 3. Its ranges match Huggies' general chart (sizes 1 to 8).
- Kirkland Signature Diapers: Kirkland Signature is Costco's own brand. Costco's size guide lists sizes 1 to 7 and no Newborn size.
- Coterie The Diaper: Coterie also sells an N+1 box (Newborn and size 1 together) for babies under 10 to 12 lbs.
- * Parent's Choice Dry & Gentle: Parent's Choice is Walmart's own brand. Sizes 1 to 4 are the minimum and maximum weights in Walmart's item specifications. Walmart also sells sizes 5 to 8, but its specifications give closed ranges for 5, 7 and 8 (27–34, 41–46 and 46–55 lb) and none for size 6, unlike the open-ended upper sizes every other brand states, so the finder stops at size 4 for Parent's Choice. Check the pack.

Where the brands disagree
- Size 1: 8–14 lb in Pampers, Huggies Little Snugglers, Kirkland Signature, Honest and Parent's Choice; 8–12 lb in Hello Bello and Coterie.
- Size 2: 12–18 lb in Huggies Little Snugglers, Kirkland Signature, Honest and Parent's Choice; 10–16 lb in Hello Bello and Coterie; 10–22 lb in Pampers.
- Size 3: 16–28 lb in Huggies Little Snugglers, Huggies Little Movers, Kirkland Signature, Honest and Parent's Choice; 14–24 lb in Hello Bello and Coterie; 13–26 lb in Pampers.
- Size 4: 22–37 lb in Huggies Little Snugglers, Huggies Little Movers, Kirkland Signature, Hello Bello, Honest and Parent's Choice; 15–34 lb in Pampers; 20–32 lb in Coterie.
- Pampers' two charts: Swaddlers uses wide, heavily overlapping ranges (size 4 is 15–34 lb), while Pampers' Cruisers 360 and Zzz Overnight use narrower ones (size 4 is 22–37 lb).
Not in the chart
- Luvs: Luvs' own site lists sizes Newborn to 8 but no weight range for any of them, so Luvs is not in the chart rather than copied from a retailer.
- Pampers Easy Ups: Pampers sizes its training pants 2T–3T to 6T–7T and gives no weight ranges on the Easy Ups page.
- Huggies Pull-Ups: pull-ups.com refused our requests and we found no archived copy of its size chart, so Pull-Ups are left out until we can read it.
- Pampers Cruisers (taped): The Cruisers product page on pampers.com now redirects to Pampers' general products page, so only Cruisers 360 is listed.
How the finder works
Sizing. Each line is matched against its brand's own published weight chart, linked below. Bounds are inclusive. Where two sizes overlap at your weight, the smaller one is listed first and the bigger one is shown as “also in”, because brands say to move up on fit (leaks, red marks), which only you can see.
Where you sit in a size. For a closed range, the bottom third is the low end, the middle third the middle and the top third the top end. A range with no stated upper limit (“27 lb and up”) has no top end, so the finder doesn't invent one.
Stock counts. Pampers and Huggies each publish diapers per day and months in each size. The finder multiplies the two (at 30.4 days a month) and rounds; that total is our arithmetic, not theirs. Pampers' per-day figures are maximums (“up to”), so its totals run higher. Coterie publishes a daily-changes figure per size.
Age. Age is optional. The finder adds up each brand's months-in-size figures to show where a baby of that age usually is. Both brands say to size by weight, so weight always decides the result.
Prices. The price-per-diaper list reads the Cribworthy Diaper Index at your weight. A listing we could not confirm shows no price. This page covers sizing only, not skin or health questions; for a rash, see our diaper rash guide and your pediatrician.
Common questions
What size diaper does a newborn wear?
Newborn size: up to 10 lb in Pampers, Huggies Little Snugglers, Hello Bello, Coterie and Honest. Size 1 starts at 8 lb in every brand here, so the two overlap. Kirkland Signature and Parent's Choice sell no Newborn size in the chart we read and start at size 1. Pampers' chart puts a baby in Newborn for about 1.6 months and Huggies' for about 1 month.
What weight is a size 1, 2, 3 and 4 diaper?
Size 1: 8–14 lb in Pampers, Huggies Little Snugglers, Kirkland Signature, Honest and Parent's Choice; 8–12 lb in Hello Bello and Coterie. Size 2: 12–18 lb in Huggies Little Snugglers, Kirkland Signature, Honest and Parent's Choice; 10–16 lb in Hello Bello and Coterie; 10–22 lb in Pampers. Size 3: 16–28 lb in Huggies Little Snugglers, Huggies Little Movers, Kirkland Signature, Honest and Parent's Choice; 14–24 lb in Hello Bello and Coterie; 13–26 lb in Pampers. Size 4: 22–37 lb in Huggies Little Snugglers, Huggies Little Movers, Kirkland Signature, Hello Bello, Honest and Parent's Choice; 15–34 lb in Pampers; 20–32 lb in Coterie. Check the box of the exact line you buy, because lines within one brand can differ.
Are diaper sizes the same across brands?
No. They match closely through size 1 and then diverge. Pampers Swaddlers' size 2 covers 10–22 lb while Huggies' covers 12–18 lb, and Hello Bello and Coterie run smaller from size 1. When you switch brands, look up the weight in the new brand's chart instead of keeping the size number.
When should I move up a diaper size?
When your baby is in the next size's weight range and the diaper fits badly. Pampers lists red marks, frequent leaks or blowouts, tabs that no longer reach the center, and not fitting two fingers under the waistband. Huggies adds a diaper that no longer covers the bottom or sits snugly below the belly button. Pampers also warns that sizing up too soon can cause leaks.
How many diapers of each size will I need?
Pampers estimates up to 9 a day for about 1.7 months in size 1 and up to 7 a day for about 5.8 months in size 3. Huggies' figures are 6 a day for 1.5 months and 5 a day for 7 months. Both put the longest stretches in sizes 3 and 4, so that is where bulk boxes make most sense.
Should I choose diaper size by age or weight?
By weight. Pampers and Huggies both say their sizes are based on weight, not age, and Huggies notes that a long, lean baby may need a smaller size while an active, heavier baby may size up faster. If you only know the age, the finder shows what each brand's months-in-size figures suggest, but weigh your baby to be sure.
